free birthday food – rubio’s

Signing up for Rubio’s Beach Club will net you a birthday coupon that’s good for a free meal, up to $7. I popped over to the Rubio’s in Mira Mesa for lunch last week to score my free meal. I chose to get the 2 taco plate with steak tacos.
They were honestly a little disappointing. Not super flavorful, the beans were okay, and the chips tasted like they had been sitting around for a while and were starting to get kind of stale. Oh well. I liked what I had last year better than this. Free is still free though – I didn’t pay a dime for this meal.

Honestly, the only items I like from Rubio’s are the original fish tacos and the pinto beans. I used my $7 coupon on a Tuesday night…The Mister and I ordered 5 fish tacos (@$1.25) and a large pinto bean side.
