sin city burger at smashburger + giveaway

Hello to you on this fine Friday morning! Let’s talk a little bit about Smashburger. Cause I ate there recently. This is a foodie blog after all. We talk about food around here!

Jake and I hit up Smashburger after they graciously gave me some coupons to check out a couple of burgers. When we were ordering the sign above totally caught my eye. Mmm, chocolate peanut butter shakes! I haven’t had one in awhile (these babies have already existed at …

cheap hot dog dates at costco

Costco. The land of the cheap date.
Assuming your date likes hot dogs. Or pizza. And likes sitting near parking lots.
Actually, these days there are more options than just the normal $1.50 hot dog + drink special. You can step your game up a notch by splurging on a little bit more!

Partial menu.

Pizza. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve eaten Costco pizza at parties.

Maybe your date is hankering for a little cinnamon action. Hook them up with this oversized twisty …

manna bbq

I had a hankering for some Korean BBQ recently and decided it was finally time to go and check out Manna BBQ in Mira Mesa. Manna BBQ took over the old Pizza Hut restaurant in Mira Mesa, across the street from the Target. Pizza Hut moved into a smaller location in the adjacent lot so you don’t have to mourn their loss (heh heh).

We went to Manna BBQ on a Saturday evening and only had to wait a few minutes …

bushfire kitchen / carlsbad, ca

Up in Carlsbad, there’s a cool new restaurant called Bushfire Kitchen that’s serving up cafeteria-ish style food. It’s a similar concept to Tender Greens or new the Lemonade that’s opened up recently in San Diego (post forthcoming) – except you order your food and they deliver it to your table. Recently I was invited to come in and check out Bushfire Kitchen for myself.

Bushfire Kitchen is in the southern part of Carlsbad, around La Costa. It’s inside a shopping plaza, …

wienerschnitzel [part deux]

Hello, Wienerschnitzel. We meet again. I hope your presentation is a little bit better than last time. Don’t disappoint me, now.

Jake and I were here to try the new chili cheese dogs thanks to some PR coupons I received. Jake is the instigator here since he said we should try Wienerschnitzel again. I didn’t really want to.

It was blazing hot on the day we went and I was so close to getting Freezee.

We went to the location on El Cajon Blvd. right …

PizzaRev is one of the latest “Make Your Own Pizza” places to pop up in San Diego. It’s similar to restaurants such as Project Pie, Blaze Pizza, Pieology Pizzeria, Pizza Studio, and Social Life Pizza. Basically, these places are the “Subway” of Pizza. I always find it interesting when one concept comes into town and sets up shop, there’s sure to be a bunch more to follow! I recently went to visit the Scripps Ranch location of PizzaRev after a …

stuffed! food truck

Every day I check out the San Diego Food Trucks website and Twitter to see what food trucks might be near my office that day and recently Stuffed! was making a nearby curbside stop. Not all of the trucks come out this way to Sorrento Valley (the quieter side of Sorrento Valley – I don’t like going to the Qualcomm side, too busy!) so I felt it was my humble blogger duty to go and check them out.

The menu at the Stuffed! food …
