We’re excited to announce an awesome giveaway for the Los Angeles area: Pasadena Wine Festival passes. The PWF will be hosted at one of my favorite places, the lovely Los Angeles County Arboretum, on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. I haven’t been to the PWF before, but their site boasts of a global wine selection, cheese and other food, games, and tram tours of the Arboretum.

Food trucks in attendance will be The Grilled Cheese Truck, World Fare, Dosa Truck, Crepe’n Around, Border Grill, and Sprinkles (who I didn’t even know had trucks).

Here are the details! To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment and be sure it contains an e-mail address where we can reach you. If you’ve attended the PWF before or have tried any of these food trucks, we would especially love to hear about it. The giveaway will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010. From the entrants we will randomly choose five winners who will each receive one pair of General Admission tickets.

Good luck to everyone, and we look forward to seeing you there!

  1. I LOVE the Grilled Cheese Truck, even though I’ve had to wait an hour every time I’ve tried it! Border Grill has been on my radar b/c I’ve heard good things about it.

Now that Sprinkles is opening a location in La Jolla, I wonder if it’ll ever be popular enough in San Diego to merit having a Sprinklesmobile here? If anything can jump start the SD food truck scene, it’d be cupcakes!

    Hello!

I’ve just found your blog and am so excited since I’m moving to San Diego this week! I’ve been looking for some great insider info on the area!

What a great giveaway too! I’ve not tried any of those food trucks but with some luck, maybe soon! :)

I have never been to the PWF & it seems like it would be a fun even to attend.
have not been to the Arboretum in years. I am familiar with the great tasting food on the Crepe’n Around truck which is one of my favorites! Shared to my FB wall & tweeted @dreamin2win via share link above.

Thanks & best of luck to all that enter!!

  6. Katie says:

The Arboretum is a beautiful place. I went there once a few years ago and I’m excited to go again to enjoy some wine and take in the scenery!

  7. Maggie Martinez says:

Attended the PWF last year – beautiful venue, great music, good food, enjoyed the wine tasting! Looking forward to PWF 2010, ESPECIALLY with the additions of the food trucks – brilliant idea!!

  8. Michael says:

incredibly excited about what hopes to be my FIRST PWF, or just wine festival in general. being utterly surrounded by good food, good wine, good people and good music. Can anyone ask for more?

  9. David says:

I was at the PWF last year & had a BLAST! I can’t wait for it to come back this year, and I’m soooooo excited to finally get a chance to try the Grilled Cheese truck! It seems like it always escapes me!

TOP DRAWER EVENT !!!!!!! Grilled Cheese, Wine fun people what a blast. Thank You

  11. Naomi says:

This will be my first PWF, however I have tried some of the food trucks that will be there.
For anyone who attends and tries the grilled cheese truck, I recommend the Brie Melt (on cranberry walnut bread)
Double Cream Brie, Sliced Pears and Honey
I have had sprinkles cupcakes before, and they are all oh so delicious but my favorite would have to be the red velvet and peanut butter. Their lemon cupcakes are delicious, as well!

I hope my suggestions are helpful! Thank you for giving me a chance to be part of the give away!

I went to the PWF last year and absolutely loved it. It was my first time wine-tasting, and I was ABSOLUTELY thrilled that it happened there. I often discussed my interest in participating in wine tasting with my fiancee, and he and I agreed that we would both hold out until we could get up to Napa Valley, C.A. However, my physics professor told our class what a wonderful time he had at PWF 2 years ago, and it was coming up again. I decided to just bite the bullet and try wine-tasting there instead of waiting to visit Napa. I WAS SO HAPPY I DID. We both enjoyed it thoroughly, and cannot WAIT to go again. It was fun, romantic, relaxing, and educational (which I ended up appreciating later on when my colleagues were discussing their favorite wines and I was able to sound super smart) .Yes, the tickets seem somewhat pricey but if you can get some cash together to go, it’s totally worth it. You end up walking out with a vast knowledge of various kinds of wine, and the food is beyond yummy. I mean, who doesn’t love a good cheese? Grilled cheese truck is amazing, and sprinkles cupcakes are just the icing on the cake. I can’t wait to go this year!!! Hook it up with those free tickets, I’ll be your spokesgirl forever!! :) #1 FOODIE OVER HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in Arcadia and have always wanted to go to this festival! I have grown up here and have never actually had the time to enjoy the arboretum, so winning this would allow me to finally check out something in my own neighborhood! My birthday is on October 4th and this would be such an amazing gift to win. I have luckily been able to try out all of the food trucks listed above in your post. Grilled Cheese is by far my favorite (and my guilty pleasure). You only live once and when I see the cheesy mac melt on their menu, I cannot resist! I love the dessert crepes from Crepe’N'Around and of course the red velvet cupcakes from Sprinkles! If I were lucky enough to win tickets to this festival, it would make my birthday! Thanks for the opportunity!

  14. Amanda "Foodie" Infanto says:

I love exploring new events and if there will be food trucks there, I am ready to experience it to the fullest!

I have had a few of these trucks but have never been to this venue before. I would love to bring my other foodie friend and check it all out! One of my favorites is the Grilled Cheese Truck… even if I did wait almost an hour for it! I’m extremely excited for this event!

Thanks again :) Great wine, friends, and food…can’t ask for anything better!!

  15. Zachary says:

The infamous food trucks and 125 wines at the beautiful Arboretum? What’s not to love?!

My name is Mary. I love: peanut butter, cookies, warm cupcakes, puppy noses, star gazing, new bags of sugar, sprinkles, cupcake wrappers, egg rolls, eating french fries with ice cream, driving with the windows down, snuggling, wes anderson movies, staying up too late reading a good book and Jake. These are my adventures in all things food. Hope you enjoy the ride.
