partially popped popcorn from trader joe’s
March 11th, 2015Mary, productsmary 8 Comments

I’ve been loving a lot of things lately and this latest find comes from one of my favorite grocery stores: Trader Joe’s. They have a little section in my neighborhood Trader Joe’s with all of the newest products and as soon as I saw this I grabbed it and stuck it in the cart.

[product review] green pea cookie
February 26th, 2015Mary, productsmary 8 Comments

I’m a regular supporter or various things on Kickstarter and I get their emails talking about what projects the staff had backed recently or popular projects. I spied a little Kickstarter link to something called Green Pea Cookie and was instantly curious. Cookies… made with green peas? Say whaaaaat? I’m not even a fan of regular peas by their lonesome self, but I do love me some pea soup so I figured it’d be worth it to back the project …

friday food finds / part four
December 12th, 2014etc, Mary, productsmary 2 Comments

By the time this post is up, I’ll be in PORTLAND eating whatever it is Portlanders eat. So, here’s a semi lazy post about some recent food finds.

For my birthday, Alyssa got me this box of Sugarfina Caramels. I loved, loved, loved the box plus the goodies instead of it! It was a taster box and had a bunch of fun caramel flavors! The flavors were Dark Chocolate Seat Salt, English Toffee, Fuji Apple, Matcha Green Tea, Mint Chip, Pumpkin …

sandwich party with oroweat bread
December 10th, 2014Mary, products, Recipesmary 2 Comments

Oroweat® approached me recently with an offer to try out their new organic bread and to host my own little sandwich making party. It was just after Thanksgiving when Jake, S, my dad and I got together in the kitchen to make a few panini’s for lunch using Thanksgiving leftovers. What else were we going to do with all of that leftover turkey?!

Oroweat has two new organic breads out: a 100% Whole Wheat bread along with a Grains and Seeds …

friday foodie finds / part three
October 17th, 2014etc, Mary, productsmary 10 Comments

I dig doing my “foodie finds” posts and I hope you enjoy them, too! These are all things that didn’t warrant their own full post, but are still worth mentioning!

Actually this first thing isn’t a “find”. I made these deviled eggs! I don’t even have a real recipe for them. I just scoop out the yolks and then squirt in little mustard, add mayo, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika to taste. Then I add another little dash of paprika …

california grapes demo with chef marcela valladolid
September 26th, 2014etc, Mary, productsmary 8 Comments

Last week I was invited to attend an event on behalf of the California Grapes Commission with spokesperson Chef Marcela Valladolid. We were there to learn more about grapes and how to add grapes into recipes. Apparently you can do more with grapes then just stuffing them in your mouth (or freezing them and putting them in your drinks)!

There was a big beautiful box with three styles of grapes: green, red and black. I honestly have never really purchased black …

pumpkin items are back at trader joe’s!
September 24th, 2014etc, Mary, productsmary 10 Comments

Yesterday I needed to pick up a few things at Trader Joe’s since it’s my turn for breakfast Wednesday and I discovered that Trader Joe’s pumpkin items are BACK! YES! Not only that, but they created a bunch of new pumpkin related things and they have little “pumpkin” flags next to all of the pumpkin items throughout the store. WOOHOO!

While browsing through the store, I spotted this in the frozen section and posted a little note to Instagram about whether or …

foodie finds (part 2)
September 18th, 2014etc, Mary, productsmary 8 Comments

Here’s another installment of “Foodie Finds!” – various things that don’t warrant their own post filled with products and foods I’ve tried out recently.

There’s a Fresh n’ Easy near my work and I stop by there sometimes to pick up a few things. I spotted some “old time” looking candies. The first one: the Goo Goo Cluster. The Goo Goo Cluster was invented in 1912 by Howell Campbell in Nashville, TN. It was the first combination candy that had several types of …
