Stacey informed me about the opening of Treet Ice Cream Sandwiches. She and Frank had been eagerly awaiting their opening and insisted that I go visit. When one of my best buddies tells me to visit a place multiple times in one week, I get my butt in gear and go!
Treet is located in the same plaza as The Cravory, Embargo Grill, and Souplantation down in the Sports Arena area.
There are lots of choices when it comes to building your own ice cream sandwich. They’ve got brownies, donuts, cookies, and even freshly fried churros to choose from!
They’ve got samples of cookies for you to munch on.
Here are their cookie flavors! The cookies are baked daily.
There are also donut options!
The ice cream contain no artificial colors or ingredients so they may not look the way you’re used to seeing them. For instance, their Pistachio ice cream isn’t green. Instead it’s all natural in a milky looking color chock full of pistachio goodness.
Another example? The mint ice cream is red instead of green!
And actually quite tasty in it’s natural form.
Stacey told me that I will “really liked the tables” at Treet which seemed like a weird thing to say until I got there and saw this. Made so much more sense.
All of their tabletops have different movie posters on them!
Mmmm. Ice cream time!!
It took a long time for us to decide what to get. I wasn’t really feeling a cookie sandwich so I went for a brownie sundae aka a Treet Bowl [$6]! You get two toppings with a treet bowl so on top of the brownie we got sweet cream peanut butter ice cream with Reese’s peanut butter cups and raspberry sauce. I was going for a PB&J kind of vibe with this creation. I wasn’t sure how the raspberry would play out but it actually turned out to a great addition. The brownie wasn’t overly sweet or chocolatey and it tasted wonderful with the sweet cream ice cream. The ice cream had big ribbons of peanut butter in it which I loved. The raspberry sauce rounded out the dessert by balancing the flavors. Woohoo!
When I discovered that the churros for the Churro Ice Cream Sandwich [$6] are made on the spot for you, I knew I had to try one! The nice lady working that day recommended we try it with pistachio ice cream and well… who are we to resist? They make the churros and then freeze them. When you order it, they pop the churros out of the freezer and straight into the fryer before they get doused in cinnamon sugar and sandwiched with your choice of ice cream. They stick it into a bowl for you since it’s a bit too warm to pick up. I tried to pick the whole thing up but it kinda started melting and falling apart. But that doesn’t matter too much – you can still fork it and be blissful while stuffing warm churro and cool ice cream into your mouth. The pistachio tasted wonderful with the hot crispy churro. The ice cream started melting quite a bit but as long as you hurry up it shouldn’t disintegrate too much. I recommend you try one out!

I wonder who makes their ice cream? Niederfranks has red mint chip ice cream too (it’s so good) and their pistachio looks the same. I know that TC would love this place, especially that Treet bowl.
I didn’t see any signs or anything on their website that said where their ice cream was from. Maybe it’s the same as Niederfranks? I wouldn’t be too surprised! The pistachio was so good!
Stacey and I tried the churro ice cream sandwich yesterday, it’s good but melts fast into a sticky-fingered mess. I preferred the cookie treat bowl we had the first time. Don’t they make their own ice cream?
I’m not sure if they make their own ice cream. It wasn’t on their website and I forgot to ask when I was there. The churro sandwich does melt fast, but I still liked it. I’ll have to try the cookies another time.
