Usually I get to work too early to try and come to Wich Addiction for breakfast, but I had the chance to stop in for a bite to eat last week. I’ve tried plenty of other items on the Wich Addiction menu so I was looking forward to finally trying one of their breakfast items.
I decided to just with the simplest, cheapest option on their breakfast menu: “Just an Egg-Wich” for $3.95. I thought maybe it would just be the sandwich alone but NOPE – you get a whole MOUND of potatoes with it. Like an insane amount of potatoes! The potatoes are like home fries – it’s basic cut up potatoes with the skin-on and bits of caramelized onion. The potatoes are pretty soft which made me a bit sad. They needed more seasonings and oomph to me. I actually wouldn’t mind if I just had the sandwich without the potatoes since I didn’t really care for them.
For the sandwich you have the choice of either bacon or sausage – I went with the sausage patty. The English muffin is toasted and the cheese is melted on the bottom bun with a simple fried egg on top.
Once you bite in, the yolk dribbles all over the place making a bit of sauce for the sandwich. Normally I don’t like runny yolks but I didn’t mind it so much here. Maybe I’m finally over my weird no egg thing! The sausage was pretty tasty and I liked how the cheese was melted on the bottom. The egg needed a little seasoning but otherwise it was a really scrumptious sandwich.
I just noticed that they also offer free delivery within two miles – and my work place is within two miles! I just might be ordering more breakfast sandwiches in the future with a deal like that…
Wich Addiction, which is an off-shoot of the Devilicious Food Truck, is only open Monday-Friday though. If you’re in the area definitely stop by and check it out for breakfast or lunch!
