After my letdown experience at Five Guys recently, I felt the need to go and have a “good” burger for lunch this week. I don’t remember where I read this exactly, but here’s a site that has a good example (plus photos!) of all of the “Secret Menu” treats you can order at In-N-Out. I say “Secret Menu” in quotes since it’s not really a secret anymore.
One thing I’ve never really enjoyed at In-N-Out are their fries, so when I saw that I could order the fries “crispy”, I got a little excited.
I order a Double-Double meal for $6.25, which by the way, costs less than the 1 burger I got a Five Guys. Hmmm. Anyway. The Burger:
Hello burger with a crispy, toasted bun. You’re lookin’ quite tasty today. Yes, I like it with regular onion instead of the grilled onions.
And then… behold! Crispy fries:
I will never order them not crispy again. Ever. Try if if you haven’t!
I love well done fries! It’s seriously the only way to order in-n-out fries =)
Hi Tiffany –
Yes, I agree. The regular way them do them taste a little too much like potato sticks and not fries!
I also find the fresh cut fries at In-N-Out rather unappealing, and also tried the fries well-done one time. I thought they came out way too crunchy for my tastes. I spoke to an employee the next time, and he suggested I request “lightly well”. Those were much better at making the fries much more agreeable. Still not anywhere near the goodness that their burgers deserve, though.
