This is my companion to Mary’s Cheeburger Cheeburger review. I had just gone there when I saw her post about it, which reminded me that I was sitting on my own unused Cheeburger Cheeburger pictures and comments. If we had any sort of quantified ratings, mine would be slightly higher than hers. I had good service there and was generally happy with the place.

Heather went with me and we ordered a basket of “frings,” which is really just a basket with french fries and onion rings. They were okay but not fabulous. I ordered their horseradish-based dipping sauce and that heightened the experience. In the future, I wouldn’t order them without the sauce. They really do have a zillion shakes too. I had Mounds and Heather had the Turtle, and each one tasted just like the candy it was named for. Basically, the shakes were heavenly.

I had my burger with cheddar cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms, olives, pickles, lettuce, tomato, mayo and A-1 Steak Sauce. To get the grilled onions and mushrooms together was a premium topping (meaning I paid extra for them), but the rest of the toppings were included in the burger price. Basically, you choose the size burger you want, and then you can choose from a list of basic toppings (lots of choices, even grilled peppers) that are included in the burger’s price, and premium toppings (like avocado) that cost a little extra.

My burger was cooked to order, and juicy and delicious. Plus, I loved my topping combination and wished I was clever enough to think of a name for it. “The Alyssa Burger,” would be just a little too boring and lame.

The other thing I liked about this place was that they put laminated Trivial Pursuit cards on the table for entertainment. Heather and I had endless fun quizzing each other on random crap we never learned before and still won’t remember. How can I have so much fun feeling so dumb? When there’s tasty meat involved.
