a short break

I’m taking a break from blogging today. My grandfather, Raymond, who has just moved out here to live with us at the end of April, passed away on Friday after getting gallbladder surgery and having complications after spending almost three weeks in the hospital. He was 86 years old. My cousin, Jake and I were at his side when he passed and while it was incredibly difficult, I’m glad that we were there for him in the end. He was so happy when he was out for the short amount of time that he was here, enjoying the sunshine and the San Diego life. He will be greatly missed by our whole family and every life that he has touched.

  5. I’m so sorry for your loss Mary. If it’s ok, I’d like to share a quote that’s helped me cope with loss :

“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we’re apart.. i’ll always be with you.”
