Enoteca Style is a wine bar nestled into Little Italy. It’s a couple of blocks from the main drag of Little Italy and easily overlooked. I had never noticed it before but it’s a really cute little place. It’s cozy inside and very nicely decorated. It feels relaxed inside. It’s definitely the kind of place you can go to and unwind with a few friends in the evening. I also must say that I probably would have never visited if I didn’t get a deal for Enoteca Style from Groupon. Groupon’s deal has had me trying out new places for a good price. They are a food blogger’s best friend.
Enoteca Style is primarily a wine bar – they have a number of different wines to choose from, including 3oz. tastes (which is what we had above), 6oz glasses or you can get full bottles of wine. Since I’m not much of a wine drinker, I tried a 3oz taster glass of something red. I can’t even remember what it was now. I wrote it down somewhere, but I lost the paper. Oh well. Their website has a full list of the wines they offer if you want to peruse the list before a visit.
My Groupon was for $50 worth of food (I paid $25 for it) so we were able to try a few different dishes that my friend and I shared, including our wine. The first thing we got was the Fruit Artisan Cheese Plate ($14).
The cheese plate had some blue cheese, a brie, some kind of soft cheese, and another heartier cheese (again, sorry I don’t remember the names). I liked the blue cheese and soft cheese a whole lot. It also came with a number of fruits (apples, strawberries, grapes), some walnuts and a fruit compote with some slices of bread. I love cheese so this was a delicious way to start our meal. The variety of cheeses mixed with the fruit and compote was heavenly. I’m not sure if they change the cheeses out from time to time, but I know the fruits are seasonal. This is also a Single portion – there’s a double portion available for $23. We thought the single portion was enough for the two of us, considering we still had a few dishes to come.
Our next items came to the table together. First up: the Spinach and Pear salad ($9). It has avocado, goat cheese, toasted pine nuts, red onions & honey-mustard dressing mixed in with the spinach and pears. This was a light salad but very flavorful. The bits of avocado, nuts, goat cheese, and pears together make a wonderful flavor combination. You get bits of the creamy avocado, crunchy nuts, tangy goat cheese and sweet pears. Very good dish.
We ordered the “Elm” panini ($9): Turkey Breast, Brie Cheese, Avocado, Spinach, Sun Dried Tomato Spread. This panini was perfectly grilled – crunchy, warm, the ingredients were all melted together. They use good ingredients here and you can tell with the flavor and freshness. Excellent.
We had enough leftover to get dessert as well as we choose to get the Flourless Chocolate Cake ($8). It came topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. It was rich and decadent and a nice way to end a meal. Getting a bite of cake with ice cream was very good.
We were happy to finish off all of our plates and pretty much ended up only paying for tip on our meal (the total came out just over $50 total). If you’re looking for a place to unwind and relax and have a few snacks and dishes with some wine, this is a great place to check out.
