This was going to be a “Burger Week” recap post but… I only went to three places so I tossed the other two out and decided to just review one of the spots – Working Class in North Park!
The menu. They have a puppy menu!
Jake and I sat out in the back where the yard is. Working Class has games back here! In addition to Jenga there was a big old Connect Four board.
It’s quite cozy with the picnic benches back here.
Here’s Working Class’s draft menu as well. Jake and I arrived during happy hour where the appetizers are all $5 and the drafts are $4.
Since they were only $4…. I indulged in a 2Town Pacific Pineapple Cider. I really, really, really like this – a ton! It’s a mix of apple cider with pineapple and it’s got a light pineapple taste when you drink it. I liked it so much that I bought a six pack at the new Sprouts in Mira Mesa. I’m not usually one to indulge in alcoholic beverages, but I really dig the flavor on this one.
We were at Working Class for the Burger Week burger, but appetizers were $5 during happy hour so…. yeah. We took advantage of that deal by getting meatballs!
You get 5 meatballs covered in marinara sauce, Parmesan cheese and toasted garlic sourdough toast. The meatballs were all quite juicy and had a good mix of flavor and texture. The marinara sauce was lovely with the meatballs as well. And I love bread. And the bread was yummmmmmmy.
The Working Class burger is normally $9 and for Burger Week it was only $6. We added french fries for an additional $2.50.
The Working Class burger comes with cheddar and American cheese, grilled onions, pickles (which do not appear here), and house sauce. The cheese was perfectly melted (yessss) and I loved the grilled onions on top of this simple burger. The patty was cooked just right and the bun squished down to match the burger to bun ratio. Great burger!
And because I can’t resist onion rings (and cause again – hello – $5 happy hour) we got those as well. The onions were cut thickly and had a nice thick batter on them with bits of herbs. The ranch sauce at Working Class is also awesooooome. I wanted to dip everything into that sauce.
There’s a bunch of cool looking items on the menu here and I definitely want to come back, especially with those good happy hour specials!

Good looking onion rings and burger! Chicken pot pie is tempting too.
