san diego food blogger’s bake sale – pre-order goods!

The San Diego Food Blogger’s Bake Sale is upcoming up right around the corner on May 4th, 2013! This will be the third year running for the bake sale and also my third time participating! The bake sale will again be at Great News in Pacific Beach and will feature all kinds of delightfully delicious treats from local San Diego bloggers and bakers alike!

Last year I choose to do an online auction for baked goods, but this year I am instead taking “pre-orders” for goodies. This way, you can buy from me in advance and I set aside goodies for you at the bake sale or arrange for delivery/pick up.

If you’re live far, far away, I can still mail you goodies! Just email me at maryd {@} theplainjane.com and we can discuss what you’d like and to arrange for shipping. All donations will be made to Share Our Strength, their goal to end childhood hunger. All donations can be made at my donation page.

I took a poll last week to see just what kind of goodies I should be baking up and for some reason, people totally love and adore these Lemon Ricotta Cookies, which are my first offering for the sale.

Since May 4th is Star Wars Day (May the Fourth Be With You!) I’ll also be offering some Star Wars Chocolates for sale. This will include White Chocolate Storm Troopers filled with Peanut Butter and Han Solo Caramel Carbonites.

Storm Trooper PB Cup Chocolates (sorry, not with the cupcake in the above photo, just by itself) will sell for $.75 cents each. Han Solo mini chocolates will sell for $.50 cents each.

I’ll also have Chocolate Zombie Bunnies for sale – these will be a combination of milk and semi sweet chocolate with crispy rice and a touch of mint chocolate. These hefty little bunnies will sell for $3 a piece.

Also available for pre-order only (I don’t plan on bringing these to the bake sale) will be these Peanut Butter and Chocolate Rice Krispy treats that I made for last year’s sale. These suckers will be $1.50 each.
