Gringo Bandito and the Offspring

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know I already posted about Gringo Bandito hot sauce earlier this summer. I’m just now getting around to making a “proper” post about it!

Gringo Bandito Hot Sauce

I was sent some samples of Gringo Bandito hot sauce which is a hot sauce made by Dexter Holland, who is the lead singer of the band The Offspring. I kind of brushed this off at first – like, do I really want to review a hot sauce? But I told Jake about it and he got all excited since the Offspring is one of his favorite bands so I said…. oh, okay, I guess we’ll review it after all.

Homemade Tacos with Gringo Bandito Hot Sauce

To sample the Gringo Bandito, I made my own tacos complete with some lovely grilled pollo asado topped with guacamole, tomatoes, sour cream, onions and cilantro plus a dousing of the Gringo Bandito hot sauce.

Typically I’m a hot sauce wuss, but I do tend to add a little hot sauce to my Mexican food for a little extra flavor (a habit I picked up from Jake).

I quite enjoyed the flavor of the Gringo Bandito. I liked that it didn’t get all crazy spicy in my throat and it wasn’t so spicy that I ran for a glass of water. Mostly it just seems to add extra flavor to my homemade tacos which I always appreciate! I’m definitely too much of a wuss to try their super hot sauce that has ghost pepper in it. NO THANKS. I’m fine with the (milder) hot sauce, thank you very much.

I think having the creamy avocado and the cooling sour cream helps tone down the spicy factor of the hot sauce as well.

Gringo Bandito Green Hot Sauce

I also tried the Green Gringo Bandito hot sauce later on a burrito. I prefer the red original hot sauce myself since I think that has a better flavor, but the green isn’t terrible. Just not my preference.

The Offspring Concert in San Diego, CA

We were also invited to check out the Offspring when they played at Mattress Firm Amphitheater. Does anyone else still call it Coors Amphitheater or is it just me?? I dislike that they change the names of theaters and venues. It’s confusing!

The week before we went to see the Offspring, we saw Breaking Benjamin and Jake had a terrible cold. But for the Offspring, he was feeling better!

While on the flip side, I was the one with the cold. The cold that JAKE GAVE TO ME. But I wanted him to see the Offspring so we were going hell or high water!

We noticed at the concert hall they had a pizza vendor making fresh pizzas! I had wondered why Criscito Pizza stopped having their mobile pizza setup near my work. Nice to see they got another gig to do.

Fire burning and making pizzas!

Jake got us the honey garlic pizza to share. It’s a very simple pizza and has a sweet-savory flavor to it that I really enjoy with the pop of garlic and fresh herbs.

When was the last time you had freshly made pizza at a concert?! It was my first time!

The Offspring were NOT the headliner band that evening, lucky for me. They were the second band after Gym Class Heroes. The headline that night was 311. But we skipped out on seeing them since I was sick and well, I think between Jake and I we know like maybe three 311 songs.

Dexter and the gang put on a fun show that Jake and I really enjoyed. Even though I was sick, I did my best to enjoy the show!

Thanks for Dexter and the PR gang for Gringo Bandito for letting me sample the hot sauce and enjoy a rad concert on a nice summer night.

You can pick up a bottle of Gringo Bandito from their online store or locally from Stater Bros.

Disclaimer: I received complimentary bottles of Gringo Bandito to sample along with complimentary concert tickets to see the Offspring. All opinions stated here are my own.
