World Burger Tour at Hard Rock Cafe (+giveaway)

I haven’t been to the Hard Rock Cafe in forever and a day. If I have to go Downtown to visit you, chances are I’ll skip it. Unless you’ve got something cool going on. Like a World Burger Tour. Then I’ll go Downtown for you.

The Hard Rock Cafe has got a special World Burger Tour going on now until the end of the June. They’ve got a bunch of crazy “local” burgers on tap that you can try out for yourself from around the world. There are tons of special burgers on the World Burger Tour menu! I went to check out the website and saw a few of the burgers that are available.

One of the burgers that really piqued my interest was the Corned Beef Hash Burger from Manchester, England. I have a serious soft spot in my heart for corned beef hash but I’ve never considered or thought of having it on top of a burger before! Sadly it’s not offered here in San Diego otherwise I would be ALL over this sucker:

“An olde tradition comes back between a brioche bun, featuring Lancashire cheese crumbles, sliced beetroot, golden potato hash mixture and arugula. Served with seasoned french fries and beetroot coleslaw.” Booo, I’m sad I can’t try this one!

The burgers that ARE available locally in San Diego for the World Burger Tour are the following:

English Breakfast Burger (London, England) – a Certified Angus Beef® patty topped with sliced ham, a sausage patty, a fried egg, a portobello mushroom, arugula and garlic aioli and served with a side of baked beans

Jamaican Jerk Burger (Montego Bay, Jamaica) – a Certified Angus Beef patty topped with banana pepper rings, mango jalapeño cream cheese and jerk mayonnaise

ATOMIC! Burger (Las Vegas, United States) – a Certified Angus Beef patty topped with Atomic beer-battered peppers, pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, garlic chipotle ketchup and chipotle mayonnaise

burgers-seattle

Java Lava Burger (Seattle, United States) – a Certified Angus Beef patty grilled and dressed in a house-made espresso rub and topped with lava sauce, crunchy java onions, bacon, melted Cheddar cheese and garnished with a fried jalapeño

Tango Salsa Burger (Buenos Aires, Argentina) – a Certified Angus Beef patty topped with andouille sausage, Monterey Jack cheese, chips de batata, a fried egg, salsa criolla and garlic aioli

Greek Burger (Athens, Greece) – a Certified Angus Beef patty topped with arugula, feta cheese and a tomato slice

Aloha Burger (Honolulu, United States) – a Certified Angus Beef patty topped with SPAM, Monterey Jack cheese, a grilled pineapple ring with sweet soy glaze, guacamole and pico de gallo

burgers-mumbai

Tandoori Chicken Burger (Mumbai, India) – a dark meat chicken patty seasoned with aromatic spices and fresh herbs, topped with mint mayonnaise and served with a side of cucumber

I’m pretty bummed I can’t get that Corned Beef Hash Burger, but that’s okay. The Tandoori Chicken burger sounds like it could be a winner to me – mint mayo plus a chicken burger sounds like it could be a great combination of flavors! The English Breakfast burger also sounds like an interesting meaty combination if I can get the egg fried hard. These different burger offerings are a fun way to try a twist on a classic burger and I’m interested to see how the flavors will work in these special World Tour burgers. I’ll be visiting the restaurant on behalf of Hard Rock International so I’ll be able to tell you what I think about the burgers soon enough!
